What's so great about ';owning noobs';?

If someone is a noob, isn't expected that you would own them? Wouldn't owning someone who is your equal be more satisfying? Even better, owning someone who is supposedly greater than you, would add a nice little notch on your belt. It would be worth something. Owning noobs makes no sense. It's like being proud of beating a toddler in a foot race. :What's so great about ';owning noobs';?

''noob'' is more so a derogatory term for someone that is excessively immature and annoying now rather than someone that is actually new to something. Personally, I like a challenge and prefer to play against people of my own skill level or greater in any sport or video game, but there are those that prefer completely 1 sided fights :P
Constant use of newb, noob, or any other variation is probably a sign on an inept player.

The only time I use it is jokingly and sarcastically. Its pretty dumb I agree for those who use it seriously.

Owning the noobz is good for epic lulz.. When you see them try to be 1337 it is so funny. I eat n00bz-0's for breakfast with m1ix
