What's with the off topic board?!

all I have seen for the past 2 weeks are homosexual threads talking about being gay and ''Does God really exist?'' threads. That's all there is on Gamespot right now. Can we get some variety?What's with the off topic board?!
There is some variety. Unfortunately, the other threads seem to die, because people just are not interested in them.What's with the off topic board?!

I know what you're saying, it's depressing sometimes but OT isn't a smorgasbord, if you want to discuss something else then start a thread.
It's simple really. People like what is controversial. Especially if it is a taboo. Being gay for example.
Make one then i'll post in it :)

The problem is unique threads tend to lack discussion, people make one post then leave

I've seen some bad periods before but this is different. Lately all we have are threads saying look at me...I seek attention.:(

Agree with folks here, I've been to OT for quite a while and it's seriously been getting worse and worse. Not been as crap since the Jeff thing.

Delete religion/gay marriage threads on sight for a certain amount time. As soon as the time expires, we'll most likely get flooded with them.EDIT: So what I'm saying is that we should send a message to all of us OT veterans to not post in them. We will call all the people that do uncool. I think this plan may work...

You're walking a fine line with that first sentence of yours with the ''all I have seen for the past 2 weeks are homosexual threads'' bit between being descriptive and using gay/homosexual in a derogatory manner. One is okay but the other results in a suspension. I suggest more careful wording in the future to avoid mods with quick trigger fingers who might hit ''moderate'' before they see the second half of that sentence. (''talking about being gay'')



As for your question, my experience with the OT board isn't as extensive as some of the people, but I suspect that everyone is taking a deep breath from the election. There was a LOT of discussion taking place leading up to the U.S. elections and I'm not surprised that some of the people who were very active in the political threads have drawn back a bit.



I think if we give it time, things will pick back up a bit in here.
All the good thread tpoics are moddable offences now.
