Has anyone here ever tried to write a book?

I'm trying and its hard :(Has anyone here ever tried to write a book?
I wrote one when I was about 4. I was about 50 pages with about 5 words a page about a snail who got lost in a pyramid, I still have it and it makes me sad when I read it.Has anyone here ever tried to write a book?
Shoot and a miss for me. Got up to about 23 or so pages, then I compeletly crashed. I was asking myself WTF am I doing this for? And then I realized that I should probably go and just READ books instead of trying to make one. Really hard to make a book, but reading is easy. :D My advice: if you're passionate, then go for it, if you're doing it for some random reason, best to stop earlier so you can do something productive, i.e. study.

I lol'd.
The most I've done is dabble with short stories.
Easiest way to write a book is to just write down what comes to you, if you got nothing don't write anything. As for me, I have sparks that make me willing to write a little bit more sometimes, I get a bit done, then it just fades out of me. 2300 will be the year I get it done :P
I actually haven't sat down and attempted, no... but I have a strong desire to. Two actually, a piece of fiction and my attempt at analyzing Shadow of the Colossus and ICO in a scholarly fashion.
I tried in middle school, I only got 20 pages or so in.

But I did complete a couple of short stories around that time.
I started when I was 8, and I planned on writing a 100 page book. I wrote about 5 pages, and then I quit. It was going to be about me going to space after walking home from school one day, and coming across a space shuttle launch. The best part? I never walked home from school in real life. Each page had a short sentence on it.
Yes, I have, and I'm almost done. :P Right now, I have 262 pages and 74,056 words.
A couple times, I got about 50 pages in and started losing interest. Ive written 2 short about 25 page stories.
Good writers tend to write what they know. If youre loosing interest in your own writing, chances are so will the reader. I liken it to making music. Do it to make something YOU want to hear or read.
Yes I have. I've actually written numerous books and movies. The hardest part of writing a book or movie is getting started. Once you get a good basing of characters and what they are going to do, it basically writes itself. All you have to do is sit back, and write what you see them doing. I've typed 67 page long movies, 46 page long books etc. Written, that would translate into about 120 pages. Anyway, once you get started, you will learn to visualize the characters as if they were right in front of you acting the story out. It's as if you were watching a movie before it was done but you are the writer/author and you're writing what you see. I've had countless months of writers block before I finished some of them so my advice there would be just relax and take a break. The story will come to you when it's time. It took me a few years to finish some of them but don't give up. I will say that the hardest genre of book/movie/etc to write is a comedy because you have to constantly think of punchlines and funny situations that will make people laugh that haven't been used before. It was trauma trying to finish my comedy movie but I got it done. The second hardest part about writing a book/movie/etc is figuring out how it will end. Especially if you want it to be a sequel. Sometimes I get so caught up in writing that I don't want to stop writing until the entire thing is done. I've been up days at a time writing nonstop because the story unfolding itself was sooo good that I didn't want to stop, go to sleep, wake back up and forget what the story was. So, it is a challenge but I say don't give up. You will encounter writer's block at times but at that time, just relax and take a break for a while. Just keep at it and don't give up.
Yes I've tried. I have writer's block though. :(
Im doing so ATM

so yeah me
ive tried on several occasions, but i quit 10 or so pages in because i always say to myself ''this sounds really stupid. and why am i even doing this?'' im unless you are willing to put in a lot of effort and thought into it, dont bother, its a waste of time.
Not really but I wish I had the skills to do so

I started in grade 6, got to 24 pages (~10,000 words), and then stopped. I realized that it was pointless, especially since my writing skills were only slightly above average. I still keep the story around though,it would be a shame to just delete all that hard work.Since then, I've shifted over to reading and gaming. I'm pretty much a collector of books now, and I'm very proud of that collection. I have roughly 250 books, and most of them are pretty good.
I was, then I realized it was a Kingdom Hearts rip-off with Nintendo characters. But I think I'm a good writer.
I made like a 4 pg book. It was chapter 1 of a 'Harry Potter' book. xD
