Global warming swimming pool shows the fun side of climate change

http://io9.com/5098885/global-warming-swimming-pool-shows-the-fun-side-of-climate-changeNo, this isn't a scene from The Day After the Day After Tomorrow. It's a swimming pool design ordered by British banking group HSBC, supposedly to increase awareness about the possible consequences of global warming. But far from portraying rising sea levels as a disaster of apocalyptic proportions, it suggests a strangely tranquil future where cities will be transformed into underwater amusement parks. The Mumbai branch of advertising agency Ogilvy %26 Mather created this giant ad for the HSBC's global warming initiative, attaching an aerial photograph of New York City to the bottom of a swimming pool. It's certainly an eye-catching way to advertise the bank's interest in global warming, and the bank has made a point of investing in firms working to tackle the problem. But in terms of alerting the public to the consequences of global warming, it seems to miss the mark. We've already been exposed to plenty of images of rising sea levels and submerged cities. For the issue to truly hit home, people need to be made aware of how global warming will affect humanity, not just the relics we'll leave beneath the water. This image makes me think that I might like to visit a version of Earth where you can swim above the cities, even if intellectually I know I wouldn't want to live there.---Tch. ''Awareness''. Still a cool pool though. Global warming swimming pool shows the fun side of climate change
that looks so coolGlobal warming swimming pool shows the fun side of climate change

Just looking at the picture made me feel kind of sick. Just imagine you're suspended 50km above the ground looking down, ****** scary.
Wow, that is so ****ing awesome! It would be like flying. . . .
i think that looks awesome but i just got a little sick lookinq at it.
That looks awesome
that looks awesome!
Okay, they have increased my awareness. Yes sir, now I am aware of global warming, whereas I was not aware of it before. I hope someone jogs to make me aware of various diseases which people may have that are currently incurable.

Seriously, though, that's a pretty cool pool.
There is no fun side of climate change. Billions of people will die because of it. It's just a matter of time.
Actually that has an inpact. I don't understand how the prospect of global realignment of weather conditions is fun. Look at Venus. That's what happens when global warming goes rampant.

Must be all that industrial pollution...
I want one.
It doesn't matter if cities go under water or not. I saw a cable special recently about a company that makes floating cities. They've already built several of them and continue to grow.

Well that was volcanoes and who knows what. But look at how much pollution has been let out in the last 100 years starting in the industrial revolution.
Thousands will die but on the upside the world will actually good with an epic makeover for the first time in human history.I say we raise the heat even faster. Who's with me? :P
That's really cool.I'd like to swim in that thing.
