I've noticed with many TV shows I enjoy, many people like to complain about the new seasons of the show, saying that they aren't original or are too shallow. I've noticed this with Heroes, and I was just reading the It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia forum on TV.com, where the majority were saying the new seasons aren't as good as the first, which is what made me make this thread. To me, both these TV shows are the same as their first season...are some of our expectations getting too high? Has this ever happened to you? Sometimes I just feel like people bash new seasons of TV shows for the hell of it. Expectations are too high
Part of the problem is that these show writers plan their shows for 1 season, get picked back up and need to come up with more material.
A lot of times, shows do get worse over time.
That's my assumption, not my knowledge :oExpectations are too high

But with IASIP, I haven't noticed the material getting old or reused. Maybe slightly with Heroes, how nothing ever really happens, but that doesn't stop it from being entertaining.
Some shows don't know when too hang them up. Some do (see Seinfeld).
Most TV stinks IMO. Expectations are too low.

haha. Way to change the meaning of the thread while still being on topic. :P
Anyway, I agree. There isn't much tv I bother with, and I usually will just wait for the DVD.

I'm talking about the expectations of people who like a TV show, then dislike it after the first season. To me, their expectations are too high. But I agree with you, most TV does stink.
My expectations are low and shows still manage to suck. FOX's lineup has become a cruel joke now. There's also the Knight Rider remake which is just retarded. However I will say that it's difficult to remain consistent throughout more seasons.
IMO the only show I've ever seen to remain consistently amazing is The Wire. Its 4th season was the best and that was its second last.
