Evolution can't be disproven if noone is allowed to present alternatives..

without being ostracized and written off by the scientific community based off flimsy evidence. I watched the movie expelled today and it is very interesting to see several PHDs and molecular biologists attacking evolution and its claims as insufficient. It goes to show you that not all educated people cling to evolution as the only credible theory (despite what dawkins says). Why do so many scientists consider themselves the enemy of religion? Are they still mad about Galileo? Evolution can't be disproven if noone is allowed to present alternatives..
 Evolution is proven fact. Expelled is idiotic and deceitful. Here's Darwin:With savages, the weak in body or mind are soon eliminated; and those that survive commonly exhibit a vigorous state of health. We civilized men, on the other hand, do our utmost to check the process of elimination. We build asylums for the imbecile, the maimed and the sick; we institute poor-laws; and our medical men exert their utmost skill to save the life of every one to the last moment. There is reason to believe that vaccination has preserved thousands, who from a weak constitution would formerly have succumbed to small-pox. Thus the weak members of civilized societies propagate their kind. No one who has attended to the breeding of domestic animals will doubt that this must be highly injurious to the race of man. It is surprising how soon a want of care, or care wrongly directed, leads to the degeneration of a domestic race; but excepting in the case of man himself, hardly anyone is so ignorant as to allow his worst animals to breed. The aid which we feel impelled to give to the helpless is mainly an incidental result of the instinct of sympathy, which was originally acquired as part of the social instincts, but subsequently rendered, in the manner previously indicated, more tender and more widely diffused. Nor could we check our sympathy, even at the urging of hard reason, without deterioration in the noblest part of our nature. The surgeon may harden himself whilst performing an operation, for he knows that he is acting for the good of his patient; but if we were intentionally to neglect the weak and helpless, it could only be for a contingent benefit, with an overwhelming present evilAnd here's Expelled, 'quoting' him:With savages, the weak in body or mind are soon eliminated. You mean this Expelled?

I doubt that is the case.

I don't see why that is a big deal...
 Evolution is proven fact.
You can't just make things up on the spot. Especially when you are claiming a movie is not presenting true facts.
It's a theory open to revision, but can you provide any credible alternatives?
Evolution can not be disproven because evolution is considered a fact in the same way gravity is considered a fact.People once brought about the theory of gravity being nonexistant with their theory including the Flat Earth Model. It was not accepted for obvious reasons.
See that link I posted? The one to the site that shows six blatant lies in the movie? Yeah, he's on good grounds. Movies don't always present facts, you know.

I don't see why anyone of those points really matter. The one beef i had against the movie was it spent too much time connecting darwin and hitler but that was just to show that it can lead to evil deeds as well. They do selectively quote darwin, but that is to show the part of darwin that men like hitler used. The point about Dawkins and them not knowing prior to their interviews is irrelevant to me. The point about the guy getting fired was only one example of several. If the last point in that article was true, macroevolution would not be considered a viable theory because it cannot be observed.

Being a theory does not mean it is not a fact, but being a theory does not mena it is a fact either. You cant compare one theory's validity with another. Because germ theory is fact does not mean evolutionary theory is fact.
People can use Carbon-dating to help prove evolution
I have yet to see ANY evidence for alternate theories. It's all ''Well, there aren't any transistional fossil...'' (which there are) or ''Evolution can't really explain...'' and picking out gaps in our knowledge of evolution rather than actually proving their side. Which doesn't work, since evolution is so well supported they're just grasping at straws.I'm not going to deny that there's confirmation bias on behalf of evolution, but that's because of the overwhelming evidence supporting it. This is the same kind of confirmation bias that would immediately discredit alternate theories for the Theory of Gravity, Cell Theory, or one of the many other well-supported theories that we have.
