The Classic Desert Island Question

OK, I'm sure this kind of question hits this board at least once a week but I haven't seen once since I started posting here. You are going to be placed here for ten years as an experiment in human isolation. The island is about five KM across, it's not tropical and does get cold for a few months of the year, has a small variety of terrain and plenty of vegetation. You have a small but comfortable furnished dwelling that is powered by a combination of solar panels and a wind generator so electricity is no problem. The dwelling has a working toilet, a sink, electric stove, small fridge, a comfortable bed, couch, and chair. A pc or large TV and console, which relates to your answers to questions 1 %26 4. On top of this you have a cooking pot, a frying pan, as well as the necessary cooking and eating utensils. You are able to grow a variety of fruit and vegetables and have access to fish for meat as well as a natural spring that provides fresh water. Now that I've painted you a detailed picture I'll move onto the questions, you are allowed to bring:1) The entire musical collection of one performing group/artist2) One book3) One movie or movie series4) One video game or every installment of one video game series for any one platform. This means that if you say Final Fantasy for example you can only have the games released on one platform (NES, SNES, PS, PS2). You have no internet access so your choice can not be a multiplayer game unless it has an offline component. You will be alone with these things as your main venue of entertainment for the next ten years. Choose wisely. The Classic Desert Island Question
1) Nine Inch Nails2) The Collected Works of Edgar Allan Poe3) The Star Trek movies4) Galactic Civilizations II + it's Dark Avatar and Twilight of the Aranor expansions The Classic Desert Island Question
Nine Inch NailsEnders GameIn BrugesCounter Strike Source(with bots, of course)
1) Nine INch Nails

2)some sort of gardening book

3) don't really care, not a movie fan

4) Civilization, pc
I would be happy with just a beach chair, a pair of sun glasses, a knife, and a ax. I'd be ok without anything electrical.Wow, first 3 people said NIN, wtf?  They're ok, but not enough to be stuck with them forever. For my answers though to fit in and give my opinion,1) Probably either Korn or Metallica2) The complete history of BMW (I own the book, but never get around to reading it cause alot of it is German and I dont have the time to figure out the words)3) James Bond4) Forza 3 when it comes out
1. Led Zeppelin

2. Some history book

3. Pulp Fiction

4. Sonic the Hedgehog series on Genesis
1) John Williams

2) The Lord of the Rings (Technically it's one book)

3) Star Wars

4) Mass Effect and it's sequels.

The book part was the hardest for me. I had to choose between Battlefield Earth, The Bible, The Silmarillion, Dune, LOTR, several SW books...the list goes on and on. I thought I could squeeze the most enjoyment out of LOTR though.
1. Angerfist

2. I dont read

3. Columbo

4. Sonic the Hedgehog series, like 1,2,3
1) Pink Floyd, although Nine Inch Nails is pretty close. Floyd has more albums though. :D 2) A cookbook of my choosing. 3) Lord of the Rings, as the whole series is pretty long. 4) Tetris (NES), Ogre Battle (SNES) as it has lots of replay value for a SNES game, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS). PS2 is a super-tough decision as there are just sooo many quality games on it, but for now I'll go with the Guitar Hero series, which has the added bonus of being more music to listen to. Edit:  I misread that last part so assuming we can also pick PC I'll actually revise my answer to the Civilization series.  If PC is not allowed then I'll go with the Guitar Hero series on PS2.  (If DLC is allowed I'll go with it on the PS3.  The 360 would surely break at some point.)

Except for possibly the music category, the others would get old as hell after a month or so anyway, and I'd end up having my primary ''entertainment'' being exploring the island or lifting weights or something.
1) Iron Maiden
2) maybe some encyclopedia
3) Some documental about something interesting
4) final fantasy (including spi-offs) on ps2.
1. U2

2. Probably The Entire Sherlock Holmes Collection

3. The X Files Complete Series

4. Probably Dragon Warrior + its sequels
1) Chris Tomlin

2) The Bible (surprise surprise :P)

3) Cast Away... lol

4) World of Warcraft. If a mmorpg is not allowed then The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.
1) Entire works of Iron Maiden 2) The World Without Us 3) The Assassination of Jesse James  4) Final Fantasy installments on PS2 (FFX, X-2, and XII = win)

Okay, let me try anyway. 1) For music, I don't know. Probably some classical music or something, with a good mix of songs that evoke different emotions. I don't listen to classical music though, so I don't know what to pick. But picking a good classical album would seem like it has more staying power than crap like my favorite rock album.  2) For books, the Bible. It's pretty long, and there's a lot of **** in there about enduring stuff. Might help me to get by when I start to get bored and lonely. 3) For movies, it's the Lord of the Rings trilogy, all extended editions. Once again, it's about persistence and hope. Plus, it's long as hell so I could probably watch it longer before I get completely ****ing sick of it. 4) For games, I don't give a ****. I'm done with games. Doesn't matter what game it is, just give me something in a disc format so that I can play frisbee with it or something.
1. Queen2. The Bible (translated from Aramaic. Good study Bible: food for thought)3. The longest straight porno collection I can discover.4.  Little Big Planet.
4) World of Warcraft. If a mmorpg is not allowed then The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.
Awesome choice! :o My list: 1) I'd probably go with a classical composer like Beethoven, might get old less quickly. 2) Some book that had all of Shakespeare's works in it. 3) James Bond Series 4) Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
